PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

A Message from Our President

Thank you for electing me as your 23rd Durham Section President. I am truly honored and excited for the opportunity to lead our section for the 2022-2024 term year. It is a responsibility I will take seriously as we go about fulfilling our mission to lead, advocate and empower African American women, their families, and communities. We stand on the broad and brilliant shoulders of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune and Dorothy Irene Height, and we have much work to do to make them proud.

Our theme for 2022-2024 is "ALL IN FOR THE COMMUNITY". For some members, that role involves serving in leadership and planning, organizing, and implementing; for others, that role is participating in meetings and service projects; some financially support the section and others contribute by attending section events. Each type of member is vitally important to the success of the section as a whole. I encourage Durham Section to harness your professional and personal skills and talents to make a positive impact in our community through our advocacy, volunteerism, service, and leadership.

For the next two years, I will focus on five strategic priorities that are critical to NCNW’s mission: Membership, Nationals Programs, Partnerships, Operations, and Fundraising. The mission ahead calls for strength - everyone's participation is needed!

I look forward to serving as your President and united in being All In for the Community!

Yours in service,

Felicia N. Mullen
Durham Section President
